We envision a future where neighbors feel connected to each other, as well as advocate and lead change in their neighborhood.

Cornetta Lane, founder of Pedal to Porch, tells the story about our journey. Check it out!

  • Our Work

We use the power of storytelling to lower the barrier of connection between neighbors,

initiate new conversations, and celebrate neighborhood history.

Pedal to Porch consists of four essential elements:

    Canvassing

    Spreading the word

We meet people where they are. Whether it's online or in the neighborhood, we post on social media and knock on doors to invite residents to participate in Pedal to Porch.

    Crafting Stories

    Offering technical support

Residents should feel confident sharing their story. We offer a storytelling workshop to help them craft a 5-minute story about a significant event that occurred in their home or on their street.

    Biking

Exploring a neighborhood on a bike

Participants get out of their cars and onto bikes. Biking through a neighborhood adds a layer of context to the neighborhood story.

    Sharing

    Perserving history

The experience is documented along the way. We share content online, as well as, design public exhibitions of neighborhood stories, i.e. film screening, photo essay series, etc.
